   I successfully installed the development version of mediacore 0.90. However while trying to convert the installation to apache/wsgi I am having this error.

   mod_wsgi (pid=26131): Target WSGI script '/home/mm3/MediaCore-0.9.0/deployment-scripts/mod_wsgi/mediacore.wsgi' cannot be loaded as Python module.

   I am using Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga) 64 bit with defualt version of python mysql and apache.

   Well, looks like your wsgi script does not use your virtualenv. There are two options getting this to work:

   For example you could modify the wsgi file and add your virtualenv path:
   import site
   site.addsitedir(<path-to-virtualenv-site-packges>)

   The other option is to modify your apache/WSGI config.

   btw looking at this line in httpd.conf
   python-path=/home/mm3/MediaCore-0.9.0/mediacore_env/lib/python2.5/site-packages
   shouldnt it be

   python-path=/home/mm3/MediaCore-0.9.0/mediacore_env/lib64/python2.5/site-packages for 64 bit systems?
   and since RHEL/Centos 5 have python 2.4 perhaps? that should reflect in this line as well ?

   Can you please post the whole wsgi snippet from your apache config?

   theoretically yes but virtualenv creates just a symlink lib64 -> lib so that's fine.

   The other issue (python version) seems more important:
   the path must exists, please do an "ls -l" on that path. If it exists and you created the virtualenv on this system (please do!), it means that you are using a (self-compiled?) Python 2.5 instead of the system Python.

   I didn't not cook up an separate version of Python. However I did move to a safer version of Python 2.6 by moving to RHEL 6. and it seems to be working now.
