Hiya,
I love MediaCore - great job, guys!
However, there doesn't seem to be many updates letting us know your roadmap, development or when the next release might be!
I'd love to know what you're working on and when you anticipate reaching certain milestones/are adding new features.

We do have a lot of these discussions on the developer mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/mediacore-developers/browse_thread/thread/7dd85487fec7949f) usually, and you're right we should blog on them and not just hide them away in the developer lists.
We're in the process of putting together a roadmap at the moment, we've basically putting the entire company's effort going forwards into MediaCore so it will continually be in development. As you can imagine, running an open source project definitely means there is an endless to-do list.
Here's what we're currently working on for 0.9:
- Support for Internationalization (via community developer iElectric)
- RSS generator for latest videos and RSS for each category
- Google Video Sitemaps Integration
- RTMP Support
- Transcoding via PandaStream (to start with) http://pandastream.com
- Public JSON API
- Plugin Architecture
- Ad Support (Pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll for video and banners for site layout)
For version 1.0 we would like to include:
- User profiles, registration and user management
- Facebook Integration
- Adding multiple languages
- FFMPEG support
- A more flexible front-end UI
- Improved HTML5 support via Sublime Video (http://jilion.com/sublime/video)
- Integration with BrightCove, BitsOnTheRun, Kaltura
Items on this list will be built as we find clients who require those features and are willing to help support MediaCore by paying to have those features integrated into the application.

When you mention development is based on finding clients who require those features, does that mean development stalls until essentially you sell a new package?
That last line was in reference to 1.0 features. The 0.9 stuff we're working on now. Some of the things on the 1.0 list would be tackled by our team, but without demand for a particular feature we can't add features without sponsors. At the moment we have 6 different organizations sponsoring development of the 0.9 feature set, and we imagine this will continue into 1.0 once we get 0.9 out the door. Development won't ever stall, it will just be more limited to what we can afford to bite off at the time (so if we had no sponsors for 1.0 initially we might do 0.91-0.99) and do one feature at a time until we have it all done. Mostly we've been finding people are happy to sponsor development if it means they can have that feature quickly.
Additionally with the plugin architecture we are looking at the possibility of charging a fee. The items that we choose for this will mostly have to do with commercial features (ads and transcoding notably).

I was just going to see about the RSS for videos and categories. I am looking forward to all the enhancements and changes! Great work team.
