   I've managed to get the 0.8rc1 release working with Apache/mod_fastcgi. I don't know if this is standard operating procedure, but I am seeing multiple processes being spawned. I see this:
   

   22852 itunes    18   0  5056 3656 1576 D 84.0  0.1   0:01.98 mediacore.cgi
   22850 itunes    18   0  5056 3648 1576 R 83.0  0.1   0:02.01 mediacore.cgi

   I installed multiprocessing just in case. Things seem sluggish for so much cpu usage. I'm sure there are settings to change max children somwhere, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

   MediaCore is lightning fast via paster. Incredibly slow by comparison via mod_fastcgi implementation.

   Hey 86me. I think the number of children here shouldn't be an issue. FastCGI/Flup should be keeping extra processes and threads pooled in case of incoming connections.

   Am I reading it right that each of four processes are using 83% cpu, though? This surely shouldn't be happening.

   Have you made any progress?

   I'll see if I can recreate anything similar, and get back to you.

   I've decided to use paster and mod_proxy ala http://pylonsbook.com/en/1.1/deployment.html#using-apache-to-proxy-requests-to-pylons

   This method is much faster.

   I thought that the high cpu load was because it had never run before, but it never got any faster.

   Now I am trying to solve create/update/delete issues.

   Thanks for the quick response. Hopefully we can figure this out.

   Glad you were able to get it working with mod_proxy!

   I'm still a bit stumped on the fastcgi issue. I just installed 0.8rc2 with mod_fastcgi (as per the new, slightly updated, docs) and I only get one fastcgi process that basically takes no cpu when no page is being requested.

   I wonder if your install was somehow caught in some sort of infinite redirect loop?

   If you have time to try with the rc2 release, and the updated docs, and post your findings, I'd be much obliged.
