500 Internal Sever Error

Hi, I've been experiencing the 500 Internal Server Error problem but in my case, I edited the two lines found in the mediacore.wsgi file.

I've been searching in forums only to find myself where I started.

deployment_config = '/path/to/mediacore_install/deployment.ini'
temp_dir = '/path/to/mediacore_install/data/tmp'

Only to find that when I enter http://mydomain/my_media the browser still prints the 500 Internal Server Error and my apache2/error.log file displays:

When I ./etc/init.d/apache2 reload/restart will runs the command successfully. What did I do wrong? Peace.

The problem is the 'VersionConflict' in the last line. You have 'BeautifulSoup 3.1' installed in /usr/local but MediaCore requires version 3.0.7a (something that should be fixable by an intermediate Python developer).

I assume you did not create your virtualenv with '--no-site-packages' or you forgot to activate the virtualenv when doing 'python setup.py develop'. The virtualenv must only expose 3.0.7a.

You should try to recreate the virtualenv exactly like written in the docs and then do 'python setup.py develop' (with the new virtualenv activated!) again.

Thanks for the quick response but when I install BeautifulSoup-3.0.7a I error like this:

I have installed BeautifulSoup3.0.7a however when I enter http://IP/my_media I get this error.

More dependency errors: "DistributionNotFound: repoze.who==1.0.18".

I assume your mod_wsgi config does not activate the virtualenv. Can you paste the "WSGIDaemonProcess" from Apache? Alternatively: Do you have a line 'site.addsitedir' in your mediacore.wsgi?

I had this same error message. The resolution for me was to rerun the python setup script, as per the comment here: http://mediadrop.net/community/topic/stuck-at-paster-setup-app-deploymentini?replies=4#post-201927
