setup.py problem during mediacore CE install

I am running CentOS 6.3 and trying to install mediacore ce 0.10.0. I have followed the guide and everything seems in order. I am new to python but I had no problems following the guide to this point. I am wondering if I missed a prerequisite? When I run python setup.py develop I get the following error:

Solved. Here is what I did in case anyone else runs into this.

First removed downloaded virtualenv and re-installed from fedora repository version.
setup.py failed at the same place as above.

Removed downloaded version of MediaCore and used git checkout.
setup.py failed at the same place as above.

ran pip install PasteDeploy
setup.py failed with same message basic message, but package was Paste.

ran pip install Paste
setup.py completed successfully.

Good that you were able to workaround the issue yourself. I have to check why you had to install paste manually...

The warnings "Unknown distribution option" and "***BLOCKED*** by --allow-hosts" are harmless (we can't suppress the latter unfortunately...).

This is really strange - for me a simple virtualenv venv && python setup.py develop worked like a charm (on CentOS 6.4 though), no problem in downloading Paste or so...

same issue (CentOS 6.4 64 bit, Mediacore 0.10.1)

No local packages or download links found for BeautifulSoup==3.0.7a
error: Could not find suitable distribution for Requirement.parse('BeautifulSoup==3.0.7a')

Every time it stop on a different package, i tried this with and without firewall. It look like some issue with scrip. Could you please check this out?

That is really strange. Somehow setuptools blocks downloading from mediacorecommunity.org and I can not reproduce that on my machines...

- How did you get the MediaCore source code? Via tar.gz or git?
- How did you create your virtualenv? Any other command line flags beside '--no-site-packages'?
- Where did you get your virtualenv package from? Fedora EPEL? Downloaded from pypi?
- Can you check the contents of setup.cfg on your system? (the [easy_install] section)
