I get an error 500 from nginx when i save the appearance settings
Mediacore works great whith deployment.ini but i can't change the appearance settings.
Anybody help???

Not that this help you meveo, but having just installed Mediacore with nginx I too am having the same issue with saving the appearance settings. Mine comes up as a 502 Bad Gateway error though.
The cry for help gets that little bit louder...

Well, I suggest you configure logging (or email error reporting) and check the traceback.
Why are so many people using nginx here? I means it's a nice software but imho harder to configure than Apache. For Apache there is just so much more docs + experience that I'd recommend Apache any time unless for really skilled admins.

Thanks Felix... eventually abandoned nginx and moved back to Apache with mod_wsgi and all seems to be fine once again.

This happens if you change the Performance Enhancements, static_files = false. Change to true and uwsgi --ini-paste /mediacore/deployment.ini.
