   Hi, I have been pounding my head trying to figure out this problem. I don't have enough debugging information to pinpoint to the problem, but here is what I have observed:

   When I upload the file (mp4 in this instance), the URL by which the file is referenced is broken. It appears that after the upload, the file is not being renamed to its' permalink name, but rather remains under the original filename with incremental number prepended to it. I can access it if I modify the URL by hand but all of the links from MediaCore to it are broken.

   I see this error in /var/log/httpd/error_log:

   File does not exist: /var/www/mediacore/data/media/9-test-upload.mov, referer: http://vs7/mediacore/admin/media/10

   System setup:

   MediaCore 0.9.0
   Apache & mod_wsgi Deployment
   RW access to data dir by apache user

   I imagine this could happen if MediaCore encounters a problem when saving the file. First I'd try using the git version which fixes a lot of upload problems.

   I tried using the git version as well, but I get this error when I try to publish the file:

   "A connection problem occurred, try again."

   At the same time I see this error appear in /var/log/httpd/error_log:

   Error - exceptions.NameError: global name 'request' is not defined

   I'm quite sure that you don't use the latest git version. I'm pretty sure that I fixed this particular problem with this patch which was merged yesterday.

   If you really use the latest git version, try getting a real stack trace, e.g. by setting debug=True in your config (that's a security hole if the site is accessible for the public!) or using paster to start a standalone version and debug there.

   The patch fixed the error with the NameError, but now I am back to the original problem :)

   What is the default location of the debug log?

   What is the recommended version of mod_wsgi that we should use for MediaCore?
   I installed the latest one mod_wsgi-3.2-1.el5.x86_64 (version 3.2.1).

   Should I be using an earlier version?

   There is no default location for the debug log, it's whatever you configure in your deployment.ini (you could copy some log settings from your development.ini).

   I never had issues with a particular version of mod_wsgi.
